Introducing LabEcon 100 – Precision at low forces

Fontijne Presses proudly introduces the LabEcon 100, the latest addition to the LabEcon series of laboratory compression moulding presses.

The LabEcon series is known for delivering reliable, user-friendly laboratory compression moulding solutions for polymer, rubber, composite and laminate sample preparation, as well as R&D and educational environments. The LabEcon 100 complements the existing models by offering an extended low-force range, making it particularly suitable for delicate research applications that require fine pressure control.

What truly distinguishes the LabEcon 100 is its extremely precise low-force capability.

The hydraulic system allows closing forces from 5 kN up to 100 kN, adjustable in precise 1 kN increments. For applications that require even more sensitivity, an integrated pneumatic system can be added. This system enables closing forces starting from as low as 0.2 kN, adjustable in increments of 0.1 kN.

This unmatched force control provides:

  • Superior process accuracy
  • Improved repeatability
  • Enhanced operator safety
  • Reduced risk of damaging delicate samples

Technical performance at a glance

The LabEcon 100 combines compact design with powerful performance:

  • Maximum closing force: 100 kN
  • Platen size: 320 x 320 mm
  • Maximum temperature: 300°C (optional up to 400°C)
  • Integrated pneumatic system on top of the upper platen (optional)

The compact yet robust design ensures consistent heat distribution and stable pressure control.

Ideal for specialized applications

The LabEcon 100 is particularly suited for applications where conventional laboratory presses offer too much force and too little sensitivity. Examples include:

  • Microfluidics
  • Organ-on-a-chip development
  • Pouch cell battery research
  • Cyclic Olefin Copolymer (CoC) processing
  • Drug encapsulation
  • Other advanced material research requiring delicate pressure control
